Pastor Eric on Study Leave

PASTOR ERIC ON STUDY LEAVE

For the next few weeks, Pastor Eric and his family will be traveling to Spain to walk the Camino de Santiago and working on a new book. The working title for his new book is “Belonging Deficit” and it explores the contemporary problem of loneliness and how people struggle to feel connected to the places in which they live.  Please keep them all in your prayers for a restful and               productive time and he asks that we also be praying for revival here at First Pres.

Deacon Supported Ministry – Bridges of Love Northwest

Deacon Supported Ministry

BRIDGES OF LOVE NORTHWEST (formerly Love INC)

Is a network of Christian churches working together to provide help to the poor and needy in Pierce County.  Our church office receives numerous phone calls each week from people in need of utilities assistance. We refer them to Bridges of Love Northwest, whose trained staff carefully evaluates each request for genuine need. Payment is then made by the Deacons directly to the utility. Through your contributions to the Deacon Fund, we are able to help an average of nine families each month and share the love of Jesus Christ.

The yellow & white sections will be reserved for FPC use during those evening hours.  A code will be distributed for evening meetings/events that FPC members and guests can use at the pay kiosk to receive a free parking receipt.  If you have any questions or concerns, please contact Aaron Byers in the church office or at

Encounters with Jesus: Living Water and the Woman at the Well

Join us this Sunday for the second week of our “Encounters with Jesus” sermon series as we explore the account of Jesus’s life-changing encounter with the woman at the well in John 4. This is a powerful story for anyone who feels discouraged or alone. We will have a readers’ theater presentation of the passage, followed by a sermon by guest preacher and FPC elder Dr. John West. Plus we will hear our kids from VBS sing songs as a mass choir. And we will hear a special testimony from Sheila McEvilly. You won’t want to miss worship this Sunday!
