First Presbyterian Church Library

Welcome!

The First Presbyterian Church Library has hundreds of books, DVDs, and other resources to help you and your family grow in your Christian faith. We have materials for adults, for men and women, for children, for teens, and for Seniors. We have fiction books spanning every genre, theology books that delve into life’s deepest questions, books on prayer and discipleship, and many commentaries and other resources that will help you dig deeper into the Bible. We also have a collection of classic and contemporary videos and audio resources, including dramas and comedies as well as non-fiction documentaries. We have a small bookstore where you can buy new books recommended by Pastor Eric and books tied our current focus as a church.

Location and Hours

We are located in Fellowship Hall, and we are open for use before and after the church services on Sundays. If you haven’t visited us yet, or if you haven’t visited us recently, drop by! We’ve been adding, pruning, and re-organizing our resources, and we’ve even started an online catalog.

New in the FPC Library: The True Story of Todd Beamer

libraryannouncementsm

This year marks the 15th anniversary of the horrific terrorist attacks on 9/11/2001. In the midst of the terrible events of that day, a group of heroic airline passengers on United Flight 93 intervened to stop their flight from being used as a terrorist weapon. The passengers included devout evangelical Christian Todd Beamer. Learn about the true story of Todd Beamer and his widow Lisa by checking out the book Let’s Roll: Ordinary People, Extraordinary Courage in FPC’s Library. It is an inspiring story of how God is faithful even in life’s most difficult times.

Marriage Resources

This past Sunday, FPC’s Russ Guppy gave a great sermon on Christian marriage. If you need resources to strengthen your marriage, learn what the Bible says about marriage, or heal from the impact of divorce, check out our online marriage resources. And stop by FPC’s library on Sunday where you will find a number of these resources, including the two books highlighted in Russ’s sermon.

Invite to Relaunch of FPC’s Library on Sept. 11

libraryannouncementsm

Did you know that FPC has a library in Fellowship Hall filled with books and DVDs and audio resources just waiting to be used? If you are looking for high quality resources for your children or yourself to help you grow in your Christian faith, stop by and visit! We have a large collection of children’s books, adult Christian fiction, Bible commentaries and helps, and DVDs. If you haven’t stopped by recently, come and check us out! We have been pruning, cleaning, and adding books and resources during the summer. In addition to books and other resources, our plan over the next year is to make the Library “Information Central,” so that it will be a one-stop place for information about church programs and events.

We also have a new website for the Library, and even a growing online catalog! Checking out library materials is quick and simple... just take the library card attached to the book or DVD and fill out the date, your name, your phone or email, and then drop the card in the basket on the desk in the middle of the library. The library is open before the worship service and after the worship service on Sunday mornings. Checking out materials is self-service and can be done whether or not someone is staffing the library.
