First Presbyterian Church Library


The First Presbyterian Church Library has hundreds of books, DVDs, and other resources to help you and your family grow in your Christian faith. We have materials for adults, for men and women, for children, for teens, and for Seniors. We have fiction books spanning every genre, theology books that delve into life’s deepest questions, books on prayer and discipleship, and many commentaries and other resources that will help you dig deeper into the Bible. We also have a collection of classic and contemporary videos and audio resources, including dramas and comedies as well as non-fiction documentaries. We have a small bookstore where you can buy new books recommended by Pastor Eric and books tied our current focus as a church. 

Location and Hours

We are located in Fellowship Hall, and we are open for use before and after the church services on Sundays. If you haven’t visited us yet, or if you haven’t visited us recently, drop by! We’ve been adding, pruning, and re-organizing our resources, and we’ve even started an online catalog.

How to Check Out a Book

Checking out a book or DVD is simple and quick! Just fill out the date, your name, and your phone or email on the library card attached to the book or DVD you want to check out. Then drop the card in the basket on the desk in the center of the library. Library materials can be checked out for 2 weeks at a time.

Library News and Updates

Visit the Library on New Year’s Eve!

This Sunday (December 31) is New Year’s Eve, the last day of 2017. If you are looking for new books to take you into the new year make sure to stop by the FPC Library. We have almost 3,000 catalogued books plus our non-fiction books which are not all catalogued yet.
We have a large selection of books, DVDs, and CDs for adults, youth, and children. We have both fiction and non-fiction books including Bible Commentaries and Reference books, Biographies, and our general non-fiction that hasn’t been completely catalogued yet. Take a look at our online catalog here and find books by searching for your desired category or item. You can refine your search by located the section called Tags on the right hand side of the catalog page and clicking the one that is the most similar to what you were searching for. The library assigned the tags to books in order to make it easier to find your desired category.
Also, stop by and get daily Bible reading plans to help start your journey of reading the Bible every day. The daily readings start on January 1 and are available in 1-year, 2-year, and 3-year cycles.

FPC Library Open on Christmas Eve Morning!

The FPC Library will be open for the Sunday morning service on December 24th (Christmas Eve). Because it is Christmas Eve the library will be open before the service, but not after the service.
The Christmas books will all be displayed and you can pick some out to read with your family on Christmas. You can find all our Christmas books listed in our online catalog here. This will be the last time to check out our Christmas books before Christmas so make sure to stop by and get some. We have a large selection of books for both adults and children.
Also, don’t forget to stop by and pick up Daily Bible Reading Schedules for 2018. These schedules lay out daily Bible readings and are a great way to get in the habit of reading the Bible daily. There are schedules for reading the whole Bible in 1 year, 2 years, or 3 years.

Bible Commentaries!

This Sunday (December 17), the FPC Library will be displaying some of our vast collection of Bible Commentaries in addition to our Christmas books!
We have commentaries on every book of the Bible, from Genesis to Revelation. You can take a look at all our commentaries in our online catalog here.
Also, don’t forget to stop by and see our Christmas books if you haven’t already. Additionally, the January – March 2018 Daily Breads are now available in the library. For children, we have specific Christmas books just for them as well as our library prize program where they can read books and get a prize. You can read more about that here from when we first premiered the program for Re-Connect Sunday.

Christmas Books!

 This Sunday (December 3), since it is the first Sunday of Advent, the FPC Library will begin displaying our Christmas books and movies!
We have books and movies specifically for children and adults and also for families as a whole. You can take a look at our online catalog here in order to see a list of all our books and movies.
Also, be sure to stop by and see our new Christmas decorations! The library was specially decorated for Christmas and we are really excited to have everyone see it. The picture at the top of this post is one decoration that you will see if you come by. Children can also stop by and color paper ornaments that the librarian will further use to decorate the library.
