FPC Library and “Information Central”

Welcome!

FPC’s Library has hundreds of books, DVDs, and other resources to help you and your family grow in your Christian faith. We have materials for adults, for men and women, for children, for teens, and for Seniors. We have fiction books spanning every genre, theology books that delve into life’s deepest questions, books on prayer and discipleship, and many commentaries and other resources that will help you dig deeper into the Bible. We also have a collection of classic and contemporary videos and audio resources, including dramas and comedies as well as non-fiction documentaries. We have a small bookstore where you can buy new books recommended by Pastor Eric and books tied our current focus as a church. We also are a place where you can find out more information about what is happening in the church. In short, we are FPC’s “Information Central.”

Location and Hours

We are located in Fellowship Hall, and we are open for use before and after the church services on Sundays. If you haven’t visited us yet, or if you haven’t visited us recently, drop by! We’ve been adding, pruning, and re-organizing our resources, and we’ve even started an online catalog.

How to Check Out a Book

Checking out a book or DVD is simple and quick! Just fill out the date, your name, and your phone or email on the library card attached to the book or DVD you want to check out. Then drop the card in the basket on the desk in the center of the library. Library materials can be checked out for 2 weeks at a time.

Youth can participate by reading books checked out from the FPC Library. Every time they read one book from the FPC Library they get to pick a small prize. Books on Immigration

Since immigration has been in the news a lot recently, this week FPC Library will be highlighting our books on immigration. We have two books with thoughtful Christian perspectives on the Bible and immigration. You can take a look at them in our online catalog here.

This Sunday (June 24) will be a big day at the library because we will be displaying both these books on immigration and books about how to have a personal Bible study, which you can read more about here. We also will have copies of the detailed FPC 2018-19 budget! Make sure to stop by and pick up a book or budget copy or both!

Books on Studying the Bible

This Sunday (June 24), Pastor Eric will be starting a new sermon series tying into our coming focus on personal study of the Bible (the Self-Feeding Disciple Initiative). The FPC Library will be displaying books about how to have a personal Bible study and the importance of such a Bible study.

These books are catalogued in our online catalog and can be browsed here. Two books specifically recommended by Pastor Eric are Living by the Book by Howard G. Hendricks and What the Bible Is All About by Henrietta C. Mears. In the Fall, we will be getting more books on this subject. Make sure to stop by on Sunday and take a look at our selection!
