DEACON SUPPORTED MINISTRY – NETWORK TACOMA

Network is a non-profit organization established in 1990 to help homeless  families with children get off the streets and achieve self-sufficiency.  Network owns 33 housing units in Tacoma where they have assisted over 3,000 families with a 70 percent success rate.

The mission of Network Tacoma is to provide a program that addresses the root causes of the cycle of homelessness in order to keep the next generation of children off the streets. The typical barriers for families experiencing homelessness are stable employment, transportation, and affordable housing.  Network addresses other issues through case management (e.g. job training, resources, emotional support). After graduating from a transitional program, many of the families often move into Network’s long-term low-income housing while they continue to progress.
