FPC News and Announcements

As you continue to pray for the businesses and apartments and groups around our city as part of the #ForTacoma initiative, you might want to check out the great video of our #ForTacoma launch back in June put together by Kyle Peirson. The video was shown during a Worship Service several weeks ago, but in case you missed it (or want to see it again), here it is!

The Prodigal Son Sermon Series

Focus on re-connecting with Jesus through our September sermon series by Pastor Eric exploring the meaning of the parable of the Prodigal Son in Luke. Over three Sundays in September, we will learn about the good news of how God offers us forgiveness, reconciliation, and restoration. The first Sunday (Sept. 10) focused on the character of the prodigal son. The second Sunday (Sept. 17) will focus on the character of the elder brother. And the third Sunday (Sept. 24) will focus on the character of the father. This series starts our preparation for revival this Fall. If you are yearning for a deeper relationship with God, joining us for this sermon series is a great place to start!

Library Raffle, New Books, and Free Stuff!

The FPC Library has a lot of exciting things going on for Re-Connect Sunday (September 10)! Join us at the library table in Fellowship Hall to participate in a raffle, check out new books, get some free stuff, and sign your children up for the new library prize program!
This summer, the library has been working on going through and cataloging the books in the back room that have never been shelved or displayed before. We have added over 100 new books to our collection and we will be displaying many of them on the library table. Come check out our new non-fiction titles by authors like Philip Yancey, Dietrich Bonhoeffer, Max Lucado, Lee Strobel and many more.
The Biography section of the library has now been completely catalogued in our online catalog. We have many amazing biographies of Christian life, faith, trials, and triumphs about people like Corrie Ten Boom, Martin Luther, Joni Eareckson Tada, Eric Liddell, Peter Marshall, and other Christian figures. Search for Biography in our online catalog to see them all and pick out ones to check out on Sunday!
On Re-Connect Sunday, kids can stop by the library table and start our expanded library prize program (You can read more about that here). The library will also be holding a raffle for an Amazon gift card. All you have to do is stop by the table and fill out a raffle card. We will also be giving out lots of free stuff like some books by influential Christian authors and a pamphlet from one of FPC’s previous pastors, Albert J. Lindsey. Make sure to stop by and take advantage of all the wonderful things that our library has to offer!
