Friday, May 4, South Chapel, 4:00 PM – 7:00 PM. This casual group will meet to share a potluck meal, play games, and catch up with old and new friends. Bring your favorite game and an item for the potluck meal. Whatever shows up is what we will eat.

Books and Resources on Prayer

This Sunday (April 22), the FPC Library will be displaying our books on prayer! Our church has been focusing a lot on prayer recently and we hope to provide books and other resources about prayer. Also, don’t forget about our Tuesday morning prayer meetings at the church! These take place every other week in the Prayer Room in South Chapel (Room 201 on the church map) from 11 am to noon. The next one will be Tuesday, May 1.

Our prayer books are catalogued in our online catalog and can be seen here. We have books suitable for both adults and children, so everyone in the family can be involved in our focus on prayer. When they are not being displayed our books on prayer can be found in the Non-Fiction section under the number 248.3. Make sure to stop by on Sunday and take a look!

The FPC Library is open before and after the service on Sunday mornings. You can reach us through email here.

Easter 2018 at FPC Tacoma!

Miss our Easter service on Sunday, or want to experience some of the highlights again during this Easter week? You can listen to Pastor Eric’s sermon here, and thanks to Chip Van Gilder you can watch and listen below to the wonderful music of Easter morning featuring our chancel choir, youth handbell choir, brass, woodwinds, timpani, pipe organ, grand piano, and praise band. Many thanks to our whole crew at FPC for making our Easter service such a joyful celebration… including our Pastor Eric Jacobsen, our Minister of Worship Daniel Perrin (who arranged the music), our organist Patrice Barnett, our Lindsey Bells director Daniel Heath, our pianist Taylor Gonzales, members of our praise band, our AV team (Jeff Reinmuth, Steve Richards, and Chip Van Gilder), our building Superintendent Mike Johnson, our ushers, our greeters, our church staff (including Karen Ackerson and Carol Heath and Aaron Byers), and all the volunteers who helped with our free breakfast, decorating the church, and more.

You Are Invited to the New Members Class on April 29

Want to find out about becoming a member at FPC? Please join us after worship on Sunday, April 29 in the Gold Room (South Building). Here is an invitation from Pastor Eric:

I’d like to invite you to consider attending the new members’ class, which is a great way for me to get to know you and for you to learn more about what it means to become part of the First Pres Family. The class includes a light lunch and will be done by 3:00 PM. We may be able to arrange childcare, so please let us know if that would be helpful to you. I’ve really enjoyed leading this class over the past couple of years and hope that you will be able to join us. Please let Karen Ackerson know if you are planning to attend (253) 272-3286 and don’t hesitate to let me know if you have any questions or concerns.

Blessings,

Pastor Eric
