Greetings from Mark Barnes!

In June we are planning a family trip to Brazil.

Last year Iris’s mother past away unexpectedly at the fine age of 92. Iris was unable to be with her family so at this time we would like to make a trip to brazil to bring some support and closure.

Iris was last in Brazil about three years ago, the same for Gabriel for Barbara it’s been 7.

We would like to ask you to consider helping us financially to make this trip.

Some of our news

Barbara is graduating from High school in a few days!!!  She is going to attend a local Tech collage working toward a nursing degree. She is buying a car and getting her DL too.

Gabriel is finishing 10th grade, working as a checker in a local supermarket, ( as is Barbara) He is planning on being in the marching band again, which is a big commitment and wonderful thing.

Iris is covering us all with love, hard work and living faith. A few days ago I head her say, “I am happy”, after doing a weekend shift at a part time job at our church restaurant.

So far this year I have worked a number of extra shifts at my wilderness job, 12 to 15 days straight.  I heard one of my students say a few day ago, “when I get home I am going to forgive my dad”. I got honored as instructor of the work last week in part because my co staff and I were able to keep our group functional and mostly dry during a big week of rain.

In Brazil  there is much work to be done. Hiago, the director of The Deck in Brazil was recently at our home. He is a very gifted and special leader seeing much growth and success in his work.

Kaka the other main coordinator on my team is running of (for) Senator… Hard to quantify how awesome a team we have in Brazil!

Thanks for taking the time to read this, please pray for us as we reach in Faith for Thy will to be done on earth as it is in heaven.

Peace, Mark and Familia

  1. PS. As we have given of our selves I feel like this is what we have received.

Give, and you will receive. Your gift will return to you in full–pressed down, shaken together to make room for more, running over, and poured into your lap. Luke 3:36
